Nazan Öncel: 'I have reduced my personal belongings to 110 items'
Nazan Öncel, who has returned to music lovers with her 13th studio album 'Kara Plak', stated, "Excluding my toothbrush, I have reduced my personal belongings to 110 items. My goal is 100 items. Enough items to furnish two more homes were removed from the house. I felt relieved as I lightened my load."
The artist Nazan Öncel, who is writing her autobiography in a book titled 'Hayat Bir Karış' (Life is a Span) expected to be published in the coming months, said that after losing her life partner Akşit Togay in 2017, she cleansed herself of feelings like ambition and envy and began to reduce what she owned.
Speaking to Milliyet Sanat, Öncel said, "I feel as if my feet have left the ground and I am walking on the moon. It is an indescribable peace. It is enough that we do not diminish."
'I FELT RELIEVED AS I LIGHTENED MY LOAD'
Stating that it took her about seven years to learn to live with those who have passed and those who remain after the losses she experienced, Nazan Öncel said, "On the other hand, I said, 'One cannot live with this much excess.' People go, and junk is left behind. Afterwards, I saw that it is possible, I can be content with less, and I started to reduce.
Excluding my toothbrush, I have reduced my personal belongings to 110 items. My goal is 100 items. Enough items to furnish two more homes were removed from the house. I felt relieved as I lightened my load."
