In the film 'Zaferin Rengi', which presents a unique narrative of the national struggle that grew under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk based on true events between 1918 and 1923, and the organization and struggle that emerged in Istanbul to support this movement through sports, actor Nejat İşler brings the character of Fenerbahçe president Mehmet Sabri Toprak to life.

Mehmet Sabri Toprak, portrayed by Nejat İşler, was among the prominent figures of the Committee of Union and Progress. After migrating to Turgutlu with his family shortly after his birth in Bosnia, Sabri Bey, who finished every year at the top of his class at Darüşşafaka, was appointed as an official to the Ministry of Post and Telegraph and continued his legal education at Darülfünun (Istanbul University).

HE SERVED AS THE CLUB'S GENERAL PRESIDENT FOR 19 YEARS

While serving as the 'Director of the Telegraph School', he entered the Ottoman Chamber of Deputies as a Saruhan deputy in 1912. Sabri Toprak, whose path crossed with Fenerbahçe just before World War I, served as the club's general president for 19 years, from 1915 to 1934.

Following the occupation of Istanbul by the Allied Powers, he was exiled to the Island of Malta along with many patriotic intellectuals, soldiers, bureaucrats, and politicians of the era.

The people of Kadıköy showed a great reaction to his arrest, 'reaching as far as the Occupation Forces Headquarters and Damat Ferit.'

After the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, he served as the Minister of Agriculture for a period and became an important figure who made great contributions to the development of agriculture in Turkey.

Sabri Toprak, who dedicated half of his earnings throughout his life to caring for orphans, passed away on February 16, 1938, 20 years after bringing Atatürk to the Fenerbahçe Club.

His grave in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery was restored by the 1907 Fenerbahçe Association during the presidency of Ali Koç.
