Metin Akpınar's daughter Duygu Nebioğlu, who stated that her sister's father is Uğur Dündar and that they have filed a lawsuit, has caused a stir in Turkey.

Dündar, who categorically denied the paternity claim against him and stated that the situation was confirmed by a DNA report, also said that he does not know Suphiye Orancı at all.

'THEY TOLD HER "YOUR FATHER IS UĞUR DÜNDAR"'

Appearing on Sözcü TV last night, Uğur Dündar said the following regarding the legal process:

"This case began in 2022. When I looked at the petition, it claims we met in İzmir in 1985. I was single at the time. It claims we lived together for a while and that she had a child by me in 1986. The person who filed the lawsuit is the lady who claims to be my daughter. I was so sure of myself... Metin Akpınar says it was a 'one-night story,' but we had a relationship for a while.

A person would certainly remember; I have never been with someone by that name. I am very sure of myself. They live in a city in Anatolia; I could have gone to that house and said I am not your father.

The lady is married and has 2 children. I would have convinced her. I know very well the traumas experienced by children who grow up in orphanages; such stories are told to them. As far as I understand, someone who saw that the girl had blonde hair told her, 'Your father is Uğur Dündar,' and made her believe it. I am not angry at this situation, I do not hold a grudge, and I have empathized. I can imagine how much the young woman has suffered."

'WE PROVIDED HAIR AND BLOOD SAMPLES'

"Instead of talking, we chose to go through the legal process. Since there is a confidentiality order, neither I nor the lady made a statement. Her sister gave my name. Even though she knew the DNA report confirmed it, she acted as if she didn't know.

Because I was sure of myself, I told my wife and children not to worry. We provided blood and hair samples at the hospital in front of cameras, and the report arrived 7 months later. This report arrived 15-20 days ago. The report states that I am not the girl's father."

'I THINK DUYGU NEBİOĞLU IS SPEAKING WITHOUT KNOWING'

Responding to Duygu Nebioğlu's words, "We think the Forensic Medicine report was manipulated," Dündar said, "I think these are statements made without knowledge. No one can disparage the report of the Council of Forensic Medicine. I would consider it an insult to the respected scientists who have their signatures under that report. They also have the right to file a criminal complaint regarding this matter."

'WOULD SOMEONE WHO GOT PREGNANT NOT COME TO MY WORKPLACE TO HOLD ME ACCOUNTABLE?'

Uğur Dündar, who said he spoke with Dilara G., who claims to be his daughter, stated, "She is extremely well-mannered and has had a good upbringing. I did not go to the city where they live so that there wouldn't be gossip and her home life wouldn't be affected. She told the lady everything.

I told her that I did not know her mother and that we did not have a relationship. I also said that I would do my best to help her find her mother and father. I am very sorry for her; I will never file a lawsuit against her. I know she grew up in difficult circumstances. The verdict hearing will be in June, and I know the court will reveal that we are in the right. She said we were together in İzmir; I did not go to İzmir during that period.

After I married my wife, I went to İzmir after 1993. During the period she claims she got pregnant by me, I was working at Hürriyet; wouldn't someone who got pregnant come to my workplace to hold me accountable, or go to a rival channel and tell them this? When the case is concluded, we will have the right to file a counter-lawsuit, but I do not sue children. I cannot be angry at them. I am ready to provide any help I can. After all, that is what they were told."

Giving an interview to Sabah, Duygu Nebioğlu said, "My mother has 6 children. Two are from her marriage in Germany. My 4 siblings shared the same fate as me. My mother has four children from extramarital relationships. The father of one of my sisters is also a very famous name from the media world. Making a statement on his X account in the early hours following the claim against him, Uğur Dündar stated that the case is ongoing and there is a confidentiality order, saying:

"It was announced in a newspaper today that a paternity suit has been filed against me and that it will be decided in June. Until today, we have meticulously complied with the confidentiality order issued by the court and have always remained silent. But since someone from the other side has spoken; let me give a brief and clear answer: The Council of Forensic Medicine, which is the institution to which the court referred both parties and which has the final say, has finished the DNA examination and rejected the biological paternity claim. For me and my lawyer Murat Ergün, the matter is closed."
