New update on Settar Tanrıöğen's health status

TV and film actor Settar Tanrıöğen suffered a brain hemorrhage at his home in Istanbul last week.

The veteran actor was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery.

Following a successful surgery, the 61-year-old Tanrıöğen, who continues his treatment in intensive care, went under the knife again yesterday.

After the new 1.5-hour operation, the fluid that had formed in the veteran actor's brain was drained.

According to journalist Birsen Altuntaş, Settar Tanrıöğen, who is currently in intensive care and has been receiving get-well messages from all over the country, is never left alone at the hospital by his daughter.

RETURN DATE TO SET IS STILL UNCERTAIN

It has been learned that Gold Film, the production company of the series 'Kızılcık Şerbeti', is closely monitoring his health status, that Tanrıöğen's scenes for this week's episode of Kızılcık Şerbeti were completed last week, and that a decision on his return date to the set for new episodes will be made after a meeting with his doctors tomorrow.

WHO IS SETTAR TANRIÖĞEN?

Settar Tanrıöğen was born on October 22, 1960, in the Merkezefendi district of Denizli.

A graduate of Hacettepe University's Department of Archaeology and Art History, Settar Tanrıöğen became known in the 90s for his character Saldıray Abi, which he played in Bir Demet Tiyatro, where Yılmaz Erdoğan, Demet Akbağ, Erdal Tosun, Zerrin Sümer, Serhat Özcan, and Erdoğan Dikmen also performed.

In 2009, Settar Tanrıöğen starred in the film Vavien alongside Binnur Kaya, Engin Günaydın, Ercan Kesal, İlker Aksum, and Serra Yılmaz, and won the Best Supporting Actor award at the SİYAD Turkish Cinema Awards for his role as Cemal.

In 2010, Settar Tanrıöğen starred in the film Shadows and Faces (Gölgeler ve Suretler), written and directed by Derviş Zaim, which deals with the issues between Greek Cypriots and Turks, alongside Buğra Gülsoy, Hazar Ergüçlü, and Osman Alkaş, and won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2011 Ankara Film Festival for his role as Cevdet.

In 2015, Settar Tanrıöğen played the role of Cengiz in the film Hidden (Saklı), written and directed by Selim Evci, alongside İlhan Şeşen, Türkü Turan, Pelin Akil, Şehnaz Bölen, and Ümit Çırak.

In 2015, he played the lead role in the comedy film Hayalet Dayı, directed by Ali Yorgancıoğlu.

Settar Tanrıöğen played the character Salih Çelik in the series Baba Candır between 2015 and 2017. He is currently portraying the character Abdullah in the series Kızılcık Şerbeti.
