Nightclub scenes sparked controversy: Application filed to take the series 'İnci Taneleri' off the air!

The series 'İnci Taneleri,' starring Yılmaz Erdoğan, Hazar Ergüçlü, Selma Ergeç, Kubilay Aka, Güven Kıraç, and Yasemin Baştan, aired its first episode on Thursday evening.

The series, which drew attention with the line "Everyone eats and drinks, Dilber pays the bill," sparked widespread discussion over Hazar Ergüçlü's nightclub dance.

Şerafettin Demir, President of the Ankara Seymenler Club Association, announced that they would file a lawsuit against the producer and have submitted a formal complaint to RTÜK to have the series 'İnci Taneleri,' which features the character Dilber, taken off the air. Demir stated that the series misrepresents Ankara's culture.

Ankara Seymenler Club Association President Şerafettin Demir stated that the series was being advertised using nightclub imagery, and that the dress worn by the main character in the trailer was listed on a website and sold out on the same day. Expressing his reaction to the opening of "nightclub dance courses," Demir emphasized that this situation encourages young girls and is a source of shame for Ankara.

"WE WILL EXERCISE OUR LEGAL RIGHTS TO HAVE IT TAKEN OFF THE AIR"

Speaking to Durakmedya and stating that they have taken action to have the series removed from the air, Demir said:

"Nightclub culture is not a subject to be proud of or highlighted for Ankara. In fact, it is a shame for our capital city, Ankara, that nightclubs are the first thing that comes to mind when the city is mentioned. Nightclubs are centers of moral decay, exploitation of women, mafia activity, and corruption. Those mentalities that can find nothing else to highlight and glamorize through series and films! I will do my best to ensure that our Ankara, the center of the National Struggle, is remembered not for nightclub culture, but for the SEYMEN culture—the most important element of our country's liberation and the founding of our Republic, which has been instrumental in the survival and preservation of Oghuz culture to this day. I will seek our legal rights to have the series taken off the air."
