Nuri Alço in legal dispute with landlord

It is alleged that the landlord of famous Yeşilçam actor Nuri Alço has filed an eviction lawsuit to have him vacate the apartment in Istanbul where he has been residing as a tenant since 2016.

According to a report in Sabah newspaper, the landlord, who stated that they have been unable to evict Nuri Alço from the apartment in the Kağıthane district for 8 years, has taken the matter to court.

The landlord, identified as Hatice A., applied to the Istanbul Civil Court of Peace and filed an eviction lawsuit recently. In the petition submitted to the court, the landlord stated that they purchased the property in 2022 for their own use and therefore sent a notarized warning to the tenant, actor Nuri Alço, as soon as the sale was completed. The landlord, who waited for the 6-month period to expire, contacted the actor upon learning that he had not vacated the property despite the deadline passing.

Stating that the actor said he would not move out during discussions with Nuri Alço, the landlord requested that Alço be evicted through the court.

Following the court's acceptance of the case, Nuri Alço, through his lawyer, stated in his petition to the court that the landlord claims to have bought the house to live in but has not even seen the property once, and that their true intention is to increase the rent.

In the remainder of the petition, the famous actor stated that the landlord threatened him by calling and saying he could continue to live in the house if he paid 15,000 liras instead of the 3,500 lira rent, otherwise they would apply to the court.

The actor, who stated that he has been applying the legal rent increase determined by the state, said that the landlord is trying to evict him unfairly. Following the submission of the petitions, the court adjourned the case to a later date to hear witnesses.
