Famous Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio shared a post on his social media account regarding the leopard barbel recently discovered in Turkey.
Leonardo DiCaprio did not remain indifferent to the discovery made in Turkey.
In Turkey, two scientists caught two leopard barbels in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers on the same day following a meticulous 3-month study.
It was recorded that one of the fish caught by the scientists was 20 cm long, while the other was 50 cm long.

Leonardo DiCaprio, one of the most talked-about names in the entertainment world, could not remain indifferent to this news. An environmentalist actor, DiCaprio shared the discovery of this fish, also known as the 'commando fish,' on his Instagram account with 62 million followers.
DiCaprio used the following expressions in his post:
'Ichthyologists in Turkey found a leopard barbel near the Tigris River. The leopard barbel was once abundant in the Tigris-Euphrates basin, in eastern Turkey and Syria, in Iran, and in Iraq.
However, dam construction, pollution, and overfishing have brought the fish species to the brink of extinction,' he said.
In his post, the famous actor also included the words of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Associate Professor Cüneyt Kaya: 'It is wonderful to feel and discover that a species facing the danger of extinction still exists.'
