Özcan Deniz to testify over 'violation of law' allegations: He made his first statement at the courthouse

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into Özcan Deniz over allegations that he had unlicensed pools built, created additional enclosed spaces, and converted garage areas into living spaces. Deniz was questioned by the prosecutor on suspicion of 'causing zoning pollution' and 'violating the Law on the Protection of Cultural and Natural Property.' Responding to questions from members of the press upon entering the courthouse, Deniz announced that his lawyers would follow the process and that he would not make any further statements on the matter.

The artist went to the Istanbul Courthouse on Wednesday, March 5, in the capacity of a suspect to provide his statement to the prosecutor. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is evaluating documents and technical examinations regarding Deniz's construction activities as part of the investigation.

Deniz has also recently been in the news due to disputes with his family members. The artist suffered a heart spasm as a result of the tension he experienced with his older brother Ercan Deniz over a title deed dispute. After their mother Kadriye Deniz sided with his brother, Özcan Deniz announced that he had removed his mother from his life as well.

'I WAS THREATENED WITH DEATH'

Özcan Deniz's arrival at the courthouse drew intense interest from the media and his fans. While the artist did not make any statement to the press in front of the courthouse, he stated through his lawyers that he would follow the legal dimensions of the process.

Claiming that he was threatened with death by his older brother, Deniz requested protection from the court. No statement has been made by his family regarding Deniz's allegations.

Deniz most recently appeared on screen in the series 'Kızıl Goncalar.' The series has topped the ratings since the date it began airing.
