Pigcasso the painting pig has died
Pigcasso, who gained fame on social media as a pig that paints, has passed away at the age of 8.
Pigcasso’s owner, Joanne Lefson, announced in a statement yesterday that the pig died at the age of 8 due to chronic rheumatoid arthritis.
Regarding how she discovered Pigcasso’s talent for painting after rescuing the pig from a farm in South Africa in 2016 and saving it from the slaughterhouse, Lefson stated, “I was curious about the pig’s interest in the brush and decided to see if the pig wanted to paint. I modified the brush to fit the pig’s mouth, and it didn’t take long for it to create art on the canvas I placed on my easel.”
LIVED AT A SANCTUARY
After being rescued, Pigcasso lived at Farm Sanctuary, a non-profit foundation for rescued farm animals located in Franschhoek, a small town in South Africa.
