Photographer Gündüz Kayra has passed away
Photographer Gündüz Kayra, who had been living in Bodrum for many years, has passed away at the age of 66.

Photographer Gündüz Kayra (66), son of one of Turkey's former energy ministers Ömer Cahit Kayra, has succumbed to coronary heart disease.
The renowned artist, who passed away in Bodrum, had been receiving treatment at a private hospital for some time.
Kayra's funeral will be held today at the Bodrum Adliye Mosque following the afternoon prayer, after which he will be laid to rest at the Gümbet Türbe cemetery.
WHO IS GÜNDÜZ KAYRA?
Gündüz Kayra was born in Ankara in 1957. After completing his high school education, he lived in Italy and Bodrum for a period.
He worked as a land photographer at the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology and the Institute of Nautical Archaeology (INA) in the 1980s, and as a promotional photographer in Istanbul in the 1990s.
After returning to Bodrum in the early 2000s, he focused solely on his true passion, fine arts photography. His background as an analog photographer is visible in every sense in his work, despite his transition primarily to digital media.
