Popular chip brand recalled from shelves: Warning to consumers not to eat

Orion Turtle Chips, one of the most preferred chip brands widely sold abroad, has begun to be recalled as its 'Sweet Corn Flavored' products pose a health risk. Consumers have been warned not to consume the product as it may contain traces of milk, soy, and wheat.

Food safety inspectors stated that some ingredients found in this chip brand, which is sold for 2.50 pounds, could cause allergies. Unisnacks Europe Ltd., the manufacturer of the product, announced that the recall only covers 80-gram packages with expiration dates of April 10, 2025, and April 24, 2025. Consumers were reminded to be careful if they have already consumed this product. Consumers experiencing issues will be able to receive a refund without presenting a receipt.

REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED

The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced in a statement that warning notices will be published in all retail stores where the product is sold. These notices will explain in detail to customers the reason for the recall and how they can return the product.

CAUSES ALLERGIC REACTIONS

Allergens such as milk, soy, and wheat can lead to serious health problems in some individuals. People with a milk allergy either show an allergic reaction to proteins in cow's milk or experience digestive problems due to lactose intolerance. This condition can cause symptoms such as rashes, itching, stomach cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea. In severe cases, anaphylaxis may develop.

Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that prevents the digestion of gluten, and this condition can lead to serious symptoms such as rashes, difficulty breathing, and loss of consciousness. It is estimated that one in every 100 people worldwide is affected by celiac disease.
