The preliminary autopsy report for Kaşıkçı, who was found dead in his home in Sarıyer, Istanbul, on July 29, stated that the cause of death was a heart attack.

The tragic incident came to light after his business partner, unable to reach Kaşıkçı for a long time, went to his home. Following the report, Kaşıkçı's body was taken to the Council of Forensic Medicine for examination, and samples were collected to determine the cause of death.

The preliminary report noted that Kaşıkçı had no known chronic illnesses or health issues that would pose a life-threatening risk, and his death was assessed as being caused by a heart attack.
