Reaction to arrest from Şahan Gökbakar! 'What kind of justice is this?'

A joke made on the program titled 'Soğuk Savaş' on YouTube caught the attention of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. An investigation was launched following the response "Well, I like milfs, brother..." given to a person who said, "Alcohol is the mother of all evil" on the program. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office took action because this statement was a hadith, and Soydemir and Akgündüz were taken into custody.

The duo, who were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse, were brought before the court at the prosecutor's request and arrested on charges of "publicly inciting the public to hatred and enmity through press and publication."

Comedian Şahan Gökbakar expressed his reaction to these developments on his social media account. Gökbakar rebelled against the decision, saying, "How can a person who makes a joke be arrested? What kind of justice system is this?" Gökbakar stated, "They release perverts and thieves, but these two young people are under arrest. I am very sad for my country, and I know that many people share the same feelings as me."
