In the footage broadcast on the Ekol Magazin program, a person is heard saying, "I'll eat this Beren up." The incident drew backlash on social media.
Ekol TV issued a statement following the events. The statement noted that the person who used the expressions in the footage was a reporter from another channel and that an internal investigation has been launched regarding the matter.

“On 22.06.2024, a report regarding one of our country's esteemed artists, Beren Saat, was broadcast on the Ekol Magazin program on EKOL TV.
The sentences used by a reporter from another channel who was filming the same footage went unnoticed due to the audio not being very clear and were included in the report.
An internal investigation has been launched regarding the employees who prepared the report for broadcast. We respectfully announce this to the public.”
