Response from Vural Çelik's family to Gülse Birsel
Gülse Birsel had published a farewell post following the death of her former co-star Vural Çelik, with whom she had been estranged. Çelik's family has released a statement regarding the farewell post written by the famous writer.
Following the death of Vural Çelik, Gülse Birsel, who had become a subject of public discussion, published a post titled "My farewell to Vural" last night. The famous writer deleted the post following the reactions it received. Birsel's post included the following statements:
"When he said he wanted to leave as we were entering the final season, several co-stars, including myself, tried to dissuade him. He had complaints about his salary, hours, and his place in the script.
He spoke with the producers, told me he was leaving in a message with a resentful tone, and thanked me. Perhaps he expected me to insist, to call the producer and say we couldn't do it without him. I think it was the wrong decision.
I wish we had played together in the final season as well. And I wish he hadn't made inexplicable, inappropriate remarks about me on a TV program a few months later. (Of course, no one cuts off communication with a colleague for 16 years for a single reason. But there is no need to recount the mistakes and wrongs of the following years here, nor would it be appropriate.) When it comes to disagreements with my co-stars, I don't like fights, polemics, tabloid gossip..."
THE ÇELİK FAMILY ISSUED A STATEMENT
Gülse Birsel's farewell post for her former co-star caused reactions on social media. Vural Çelik's family responded to Birsel.
The statement from the Çelik family is as follows:
"To the attention of the public,
We are going through one of the most difficult periods of our lives. My very dear brother Vural Çelik has left us, leaving behind deep pain. His warm smile, loving heart, and the beauty he added to our lives will always be remembered.
Let us not forget that my brother left a mark on the hearts of many people throughout his life. We will never forget the values he taught us, the memories he shared, and the love he gave. We know that in these difficult days, supporting each other and keeping his memory alive is the most important thing.
As the Çelik family, while our pain is still very fresh, we have witnessed with sadness the overstepping statements made by Gülse Birsel. We leave it to the public's discretion to judge how appropriate it is for such comments to be made about our brother without us having the opportunity to defend him.
As can be understood from these statements, a person's pen may be talented; however, this does not mean they are a good person. My brother was a person who loved to make people happy and make them laugh, and he was happy with every smile he saw. This was his greatest wealth.
Throughout his life, my brother was someone who took care of a visually impaired mother, a sister, and two nieces, struggled through life, and never bowed to anyone while chasing his bread. He lived with honor and left us with honor.
As the Çelik family, our advice to Gülse Birsel is to go to my brother's grave and ask for his forgiveness. This might, perhaps, bring some peace to our hearts in these difficult days. My brother was magnanimous; we hope he forgives...
Our condolences to all; our pain will lessen as it is shared.
The Çelik Family"
