Sad news from artist İlhan Şeşen!

Master artist İlhan Şeşen has been diagnosed with lung cancer. It has been learned that Şeşen, who resides in Bodrum, has been receiving treatment in Istanbul for some time.

According to the report in Hürriyet; his doctors stated that the artist is responding positively to the treatment.

İlhan Şeşen had previously been diagnosed with cancer and had regained his health through the treatment he received.

WHO IS İLHAN ŞEŞEN?

Born on June 18, 1948, in Manisa, İlhan Şeşen worked as a freelance lawyer for 10 years after graduating from the Faculty of Law. He began his music career in 1968 by singing in dance music orchestras and learned to play the guitar that same year. In 1971, he released a 45-rpm record titled “Kavga”. In 1983, he left his legal profession and founded the group Grup Gündoğarken with his nephews Gökhan and Burhan Şeşen.

During a period when the group took a break from their work, he released his solo album titled “Aşk Haklı” in 1994. Preparing a program for TRT titled “Gençler Haklı”, Şeşen took on the role of producer and presenter for a program titled “Arka Pencere” on a private channel in 1995. İlhan Şeşen, who also prepared a radio program titled “Amcam Burada”, acted in the series “Cesur Kuşku” broadcast on TRT1. Bringing his second solo album “Neler Oluyor Bize” to his fans in January 2002, İlhan Şeşen achieved a major breakthrough with all the songs in the album, especially the song “Neler Oluyor Bize”. After a 1.5-year hiatus, the “uncle” of Turkish Pop Music, İlhan Şeşen, met his fans with his new solo album “Şimdi Ben Bu Şarkıları Kime Söyleyeyim?”.

During the same period, he acted in the series “Mühürlü Güller” which was being broadcast on TRT1. His fourth solo album “Aşk Yalan” took its place in music markets in May 2005. In 2013, he released the album “Gel”. Furthermore, he has acted in series such as “Aliye”, “Annem”, “Hayatımın Rolü”, “Görüş Günü Kadınları”, “Aşk Yalanı Sever”, “Milat”, and “Paramparça”.

In May 2017, his album “İstanbullu Şarkılar” was released under the Sony Music label. In this album, the artist filmed a music video for his song “Ayrılık Üstüne”. Following the well-received album, in 2018, he presented the album “Ciddi Eğlence” to music lovers, a collaboration between İlhan Şeşen and Burçin Büke, with lyrics and music by himself and all arrangements by pianist Burçin Büke, whose success has been proven worldwide.

The master artist's tribute album titled “Hediyem”, released in the same year, features interpretations by his esteemed artist friends. In the album, which also crowns the artist's 47th year in art and contains 14 İlhan Şeşen songs, music videos were filmed for the songs “Sensiz Olmaz” (Yalın), “Sıcaklardandır” (Dilhan Şeşen), and “Sen Benim Şarkılarımsın” (İhtiyaç Molası).

The work of master artists İlhan Şeşen and Vedat Sakman, which was born as a stage project in 2013 and evolved into a joint album over time, “Akustik Hikayeler”, was presented to music lovers in June 2020 under the Sony Music label.
