Şahan Gökbakar's reaction to Özgür Özel regarding the Court of Cassation and the Constitutional Court

The 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation did not recognize the ruling issued by the Constitutional Court regarding the Gezi detainee TIP Hatay MP Can Atalay.

ŞAHAN GÖKBAKAR SHARED ARTICLE 153 OF THE CONSTITUTION

Comedian Şahan Gökbakar shared Article 153 of the Constitution on his X account and asked, "This is our Constitution written above. The Court of Cassation is a judicial body, but it is not complying with this article. It is not complying with the Constitutional Court's ruling that also binds it. So what will happen now?"

REACTION TO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL

Gökbakar later reacted to CHP leader Özgür Özel for not posting about the Court of Cassation's refusal to recognize the Constitutional Court's ruling.

Quoting Özel's post regarding the terrorist attack in Iran, Gökbakar stated, "Mr. Özgür, the rule of law is also disappearing in our country. The Constitution is being violated. I thought I would let you know so you can do more than your part! and fire off a 'tweet' in the harshest tone. Or have your people write it on cardboard and film a video saying 'we will not allow this' 'we will never permit this'! that would be more fitting."

After a while, Özgür Özel posted about the crisis between the Court of Cassation and the Constitutional Court, stating, "This incompetent government has turned our country into a banana republic where the law does not function and the constitution is not recognized. We will persistently continue to defend the constitution against the Court of Cassation's ruling. We will address the issue as a special agenda item at our Party Assembly meeting tomorrow and determine our future line of struggle."

Quoting this post by Özel, Gökbakar reacted to him with the words, "Ha, the tweet has arrived... Thanks. Okay, I think it's a sufficient reaction... quite clear. Good... Tomorrow is another day. By the way, is there any situation in Bangladesh or somewhere, how are things going over there???"
