Seda Fettahoğlu's cousin Ayşe Tolga speaks out: "Life tests us with those we love most"

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) City Theatres actress Seda Fettahoğlu (44) was found dead the other day in a park in Beyoğlu, having been shot in the head with a handgun.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:00 AM at the 10 Aralık Şehitler Park in the Gümüşsuyu Ömer Avni neighborhood. A person walking in the park heard a gunshot and, upon heading in the direction of the sound, saw a woman lying on the grass with a gunshot wound to her head. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. Medical teams determined that the woman had lost her life.

DIED BY SUICIDE ONE DAY AFTER HER BIRTHDAY

Next to the body of Fettahoğlu, who was determined to have died by suicide, a registered handgun for which she held a possession license and an empty shell casing were found. It was alleged that the actress, who was also found to have antidepressant medication in her bag, had purchased the handgun on the same day.

It was learned that Seda Fettahoğlu died by suicide one day after her birthday, and her body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue following investigations.

Local resident Tuğrul Yüksel said, "I came this way when I saw the ambulances and police. I heard she shot herself, that it was a suicide. We didn't learn who she was or what happened, we only heard she was an artist. The police didn't let us get close, so we watched from a distance."

'I LOST MY BEAUTIFUL COUSIN'

It has emerged that Seda Fettahoğlu, whose death deeply shook the art community, was the cousin of actress Ayşe Tolga.

Following Fettahoğlu's death, Tolga stated, "Life tests us with those we love most. We have lost my beautiful, intelligent, cheerful, and talented dear cousin, Seda Fettahoğlu, friends. Please keep her in your prayers."
