Selahattin Taşdöğen's remarks on Palestine spark controversy: 'Arabs deserve this'
Veteran actor Selahattin Taşdöğen's comments regarding Palestine while evaluating the conflict between Israel and Hamas have become a trending topic on social media. Taşdöğen stated, "I say no to the slaughter of children and babies there, but in a way, these Palestinian people, these Arabs, deserve this."
Veteran actor Selahattin Taşdöğen's remarks about the Hamas-Israel war have divided social media.
Speaking in a street interview for the YouTube channel Başka Açıdan TV, Taşdöğen emphasized that Israel's massacres are unacceptable, noting that "every kind of war affects our country as well."
HE RECALLED THE CYPRUS PEACE OPERATION: THEY WERE NEVER BEHIND THE TURKS
Emphasizing that Israel is a major project, Taşdöğen recalled the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation and reacted to the policy Palestine followed at that time.
"ARABS DESERVE THIS"
The veteran actor continued his words as follows;
"Israel has committed a great crime and must pay the price. It has the US behind it. There is a United Nations community that has failed to unite. This Israel project is a very big project. A great human tragedy is taking place there, but has Palestine ever recognized Turkey? In the '74 operation, the Palestinian people did not recognize us. They recognized Greece. They took the side of the Greeks, they took the side of the Armenians, but they were never behind the Turks. As a matter of conscience, I am very uncomfortable. Of course, children and babies are being slaughtered there, I say no to that. But in a way, these Palestinian people, these Arabs, deserve this."
