Serenay Sarıkaya's outcry for Ayşe Barım: She is waiting for her death

Manager Ayşe Barım, who was detained as part of the Gezi Park investigation that was reopened years later, was arrested on charges of 'attempting to overthrow the government'.

Appearing before a judge for the first time on July 7, Barım could not hold back her tears while making her defense and stated the following:

"I have not attempted or assisted in anything aimed at destroying the Republic of Turkey... Before entering here, I was diagnosed with a very serious heart condition and a brain aneurysm. Six separate diseases were detected in my heart. I am struggling to survive in extremely unhealthy conditions... I want my right to life back. My honor, my reputation, and my right to life have all been taken from me. I trust in your justice and your conscience."

In the interim decision, it was ruled that Barım's detention would continue, and it was announced that the next hearing would be held in October.

Ayşe Barım's lawyer, Deniz Ketenci, had stated after the decision regarding her client, "Ayşe remaining inside carries a serious risk in terms of her life. She needs a pacemaker. Doctors say the situation could even lead to a heart transplant."

Barım also wrote a letter last week regarding her health condition, stating, "I demand that the life taken from me through unjust slanders be returned to me."

"AYŞE BARIM MUST NOT DIE!"

Serenay Sarıkaya, one of the actors managed by Ayşe Barım, also made a post for Barım on her social media account today.

Sarıkaya stated, "A woman alone, 56 years old, who has worked her whole life and has had no connection to politics whatsoever, has been struggling to survive in prison for 227 days. Our belief in her innocence is absolute. This woman has been waiting for her death in silence for all these months. Ayşe Barım MUST NOT DIE!"
