Orhan Gencebay, who prepared a song titled 'Sadece İstanbul' (Only Istanbul) to be used in the election campaign for the People's Alliance's Istanbul candidate Murat Kurum, attended the iftar dinner Kurum hosted for the Roma community in Şişli yesterday evening.

Gencebay, who has been criticized by some circles on social media for being close to the government, was defended by his wife, Sevim Emre.

Emre stated, "My husband is a personality above politics. He could even have been President if he wanted. This has nothing to do with partisanship. We stand with whichever party works for the homeland. Let the dogs bark, let's ignore them."
