Miss USA Noelia Voigt has decided to relinquish her crown.
It was stated that the 24-year-old Venezuelan-American beauty made this decision due to mental health issues.
'DO NOT COMPROMISE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH'
Voigt, who won the competition in September, stated in a message shared on her Instagram account that she made the best decision for her mental health, saying, "Our health is our treasure. Never compromise your physical or mental health."
Noting that her life changed after being crowned and that she had wonderful experiences, the young woman expressed that she wants to begin a new chapter in her life.
The Miss USA organization also announced that it supports Voigt's decision. The organization stated that a new name will be determined for the queen's duties.
In last year's competition, Savannah Gankiewicz from Hawaii was the runner-up.
