Sinan Çetin ends his cinema career

Sinan Çetin, who shot his first feature film in 1980 and became known for “Çiçek Abbas,” a turning point in his cinema career, was spotted while walking in Kuruçeşme the other day. The 71-year-old director announced to members of the press that he would no longer be making films and that he has retired.

Sinan Çetin stepped into cinema in 1975 by working as an assistant director on Zeki Ökten’s film “Hanzo.” In 1980, he shot his first feature film, “Bir Günün Hikayesi.” Çetin directed award-winning films such as “Çiçek Abbas,” “14 Numara,” “Çirkinler de Sever,” and “Berlin in Berlin.” However, he has now declared that he will not make any more films and has retired.

Çetin stated, “I will not make any more films; I have retired now,” and explained the reason for his decision by saying, “I am tired now.”

When reminded of an interview he gave in recent weeks where he said he was not in contact with his son Rafael Cemo Çetin, Çetin remarked, “There was a misunderstanding.” Furthermore, regarding the relationship between his son Rafael Cemo Çetin and actress Dilan Çiçek Deniz, which has been in the tabloid headlines, he said, “I wish them happiness.”
