Squid Game star O Yeong-su sentenced to 8 months in prison for sexual harassment
O Yeong-su, an actor from the Squid Game series that gained massive global popularity in 2021, has been sentenced to 8 months in prison for sexual harassment.
O Yeong-su, the 80-year-old famous actor known worldwide for Squid Game, has been sentenced to 8 months in prison for a sexual harassment offense committed in 2017.
The court found the famous actor guilty after the victim's diary entries and reports were found to be consistent.
O Yeong-su won a Golden Globe award in 2022.
WILL PARTICIPATE IN TREATMENT PROGRAM
In addition to the 8-month suspended prison sentence, the court mandated that the famous actor participate in a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program.
The prosecution had stated that O had touched a woman's body inappropriately in mid-2017.
O, who denied the sexual harassment charges, said he plans to appeal the conviction.
