Star Wars' iconic robot goes up for sale

Anthony Daniels, who played the robot C-3PO in Star Wars, one of the most iconic franchises in the cinema world, is now saying goodbye to his memorabilia.

The 78-year-old Daniels is selling Star Wars memorabilia from his private collection in Los Angeles via auction.

TO BE SOLD FOR 1 MILLION DOLLARS

The illuminated headpiece worn by Daniels in the 1983 film Return of the Jedi is expected to sell for 1 million dollars at the Propstore auction between March 12-14.

The robot's head resembles the C-3PO head that sold for nearly 850 thousand dollars at an auction last November, which also included items from Daniels.

'MY FEELINGS ARE VERY MIXED'

After playing the droid in films and TV shows for years, Daniels admitted that he felt some reluctance about parting ways with C-3PO. Daniels stated the following:

"I have lived with these items for 50 years and I have very mixed feelings about letting them go. All of these items were in closets, drawers, and the attic. No one was looking at them, no one was valuing them. And they were too good to be thrown in the trash."
