Statement from Arzu Sabancı: 'I did not interfere in my son's private life'

Famous actress Hande Erçel and Hakan Sabancı, a prominent figure in high society who have been together for about three years, have made headlines with their decision to separate. While the reason for the breakup has not yet been clarified, various claims have begun to circulate.

One of these claims was that Arzu Sabancı, Hakan Sabancı's mother, did not approve of the relationship, which was heading toward marriage, and therefore intervened in the process.

Hande is a young woman who is loved by everyone, successful in her art, elegant, intelligent, and has very beautiful values. I watched them with happiness throughout their relationship. The decision to separate belongs to Hakan and Hande; we as a family learned about it afterward. The private lives of my sons are entirely their own preferences and choices. We have never been involved and we will not be. It saddens me that there is an attempt to portray me as someone I am not. But while writing these, I wanted to share them here by writing my own values, in the way I have always believed.''
