Statement from Diddy, who was taken into custody for sexual assault
American actor, producer, and rapper Sean Combs, known as "Diddy," who faces sexual assault allegations, has claimed he is innocent.
Sean Combs, who was taken into custody in New York, denied all charges against him in a federal court in Manhattan.
U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams stated in a press conference after the hearing, "This office is committed to investigating and prosecuting anyone who engages in sex trafficking, no matter how powerful, wealthy, or famous they may be."
The indictment alleges that Combs and his associates "lured female victims, often under the guise of a romantic relationship, and forced them into sexual acts and drug use."
Combs' lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, argued that his client is "a flawed person, but not a criminal."
Meanwhile, in a post on his Instagram account, Combs stated, "Enough is enough... Disgusting allegations have been made against me by people looking for a quick payday. To be absolutely clear, I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and the truth."
HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND ALSO FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST COMBS LAST YEAR
Combs' ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, alleging that he had sexually assaulted her.
In May, CNN broadcast a video showing Combs physically assaulting Ventura, and Combs apologized for his actions.
Following the lawsuit filed by Ventura, sexual assault allegations against Combs continued to mount.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued search warrants for Combs' homes in Los Angeles and Miami on March 25 and conducted raids on those properties.
