Statement from Eylül Öztürk, who owns 10 houses in the US: 'I didn't eat or drink, I am a frugal woman'

Following the arrest of Dilan Polat and Engin Polat for money laundering, it was announced that the ministry had taken action and that an investigation would be launched into 600 influencers.

The assets of 12 people, including Eylül Öztürk, who appeared in a photo shared by Dilan Polat in 2019—referred to as the 'champions league' of social media—have all been seized. Eylül Öztürk, who moved to the US some time ago, made new statements following the investigation launched against them and the seizure of their assets.

Eylül Öztürk and Kenan Özkan's purchase of 10 houses in America in a short period of time had sparked public debate.

'I AM A FRUGAL WOMAN, I WISH I HAD BOUGHT ONE BIG HOUSE'

Öztürk explained how they bought the houses with the following words:

"Each of the houses is 125 thousand dollars. You can barely buy a car in Turkey for 125 thousand dollars. If I sold them all, I could barely buy one big house. People think I have 10 mansions. I didn't eat or drink for years, I saved up; I am a frugal woman. I wish I had saved it all and bought 1 big house. Then it wouldn't be talked about this much.

When people hear 10, they think there is something to it. You can buy a house in America for 100 thousand dollars. It is impossible in Istanbul. Unfortunately, they don't understand this. In short, I have been an extremely frugal woman who knows how hard it is to earn money and who works day and night to save money for my children's future."
