Statement on 'mosque ban' from the director of Ömer

The series, starring Gökçe Bahadır, Selahattin Paşalı, and Barış Falay, bid farewell to its audience with its final episode.

The show's cast and director said goodbye to their fans with posts they shared on their social media accounts.

The show's director, Cem Karcı, announced in a post on his social media account that they had been banned from entering any mosque in Istanbul starting from the 3rd episode.

Karcı emphasized that the goal of the 'Ömer' series was not to divide, but to unite.

Director Cem Karcı shared the following:

"Tonight we say Ömer for the last time! We set out on this path with the power of love and solidarity. We aimed to touch people's lives and create a different perspective.

It is clear that what we told bothered some people; from the 3rd episode onwards, we were banned from entering any mosque in Istanbul.

Yet our intention was not to divide, but to unite. It was to explain that religion is based on uniting through love, not polarization.

Still, we did our best. I think we were able to tell this gently and with grace, without being pushy. I thank every viewer who has been with us or not until now.

I also think this is an early farewell, yes. But I look forward to being with you again with new stories."
