Striking comments from Şafak Sezer on the Ayşe Barım agenda: 'One person is in control'
Actor Şafak Sezer spoke about the debates regarding monopolization in the TV series and cinema industry, stating, "The industry is under the control of one person. Their time is running out too; they will expose them all soon."
Answering questions from Candaş Tolga Işık on 'Az Önce Konuştum', Şafak Sezer made notable statements.
Starting his theater career in Ankara, Şafak Sezer said, "It is a bit harder to do comedy in Turkey. The formula for making people laugh is to sell them what you know. The greatest formula of humor is to promote your own vocabulary. It has no other weapon."
Responding to Candaş Tolga Işık's question, "Many people have entered our lives, but very few have been able to stay. What is the secret to staying?", Şafak Sezer made striking remarks about names who made a name for themselves with the 'İner misin Çıkar mısın' competition.
HE DESCRIBED THE ROAD TO FAME
Şafak Sezer said, "Yavuz Seçkin is in the background. Berdan Mardini was there. He is both my neighbor and a vocal contestant there. Semih Koç was there. He had a tremendous voice. I don't know what he is doing. He was someone we would say, 'This kid will become famous.' Nothing like that was expected from Hakan and me. It happened after those sketches with Okan Bayülgen taking us under his wing. Okan brother must have seen something on French television. He said, 'I want something in a format like this. I will take you and Hakan.' As the curtain went up and down, all the artists, producers, and advertisers started watching us. First, Cem Özer saw us. Then I entered the series 'Sıdıka' with the role of Kenar. The late Atıf brother had watched it. That was my breakthrough," he said.

"YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING"
Evaluating the monopolization that came back to the agenda following the Competition Authority's investigation into casting agencies and management companies in the TV series and cinema industry, the famous actor Şafak Sezer said, "There is a group, and you cannot do anything outside of that group. It wasn't like this in the past. One would go to all agencies and cast someone who could do the job. Directors were also chosen from there," he said.
"INJUSTICE HAS BEGUN IN THE INDUSTRY"
Continuing his words, Şafak Sezer said, "Now something different has happened. The industry is under the control of one person. And that one person controls everyone in the market. Their time is running out too; they will expose them all soon. Injustice has begun in this business. There is favoritism. What does 'my actor' mean? If there is someone who knows this business and can do it, they do it. There is no such thing as 'my actor' in our field. You can see what an industry run by nepotism has turned into. I have never worked with a management system. As far as I hear, they say, 'If Tolga is acting, Şafak is in his agency, you have to take him too. Otherwise, I won't give you Tolga,'" he said, describing the situation reached as a result of monopolization in the TV series and acting industry.
