Striking condolence post from Selda Bağcan for Volkan Konak
Artist Volkan Konak, known as the 'Son of the North,' fell ill and passed away during his concert in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on the first day of the holiday. Following Konak's passing, famous figures shared messages of condolence. Among these messages, the words of Selda Bağcan drew particular attention.
Volkan Konak, who fell ill during his performance on stage, suddenly collapsed. Panic erupted on stage as the artist fell to the ground.
The first intervention was performed rapidly at the scene. Following CPR and intensive efforts, he was rushed to the nearest hospital by ambulance. However, despite all interventions at the hospital, the 58-year-old master artist could not be saved.
While many famous names poured their emotions into words after his passing, his fans also began an emotional farewell on social media with concert videos and his songs.
One of these names was the master artist Selda Bağcan.
Bağcan shared a photo taken with Volkan Konak on her Instagram account and added the following note:
“We are losing people with integrity one by one… Volkan was an artist of the people, in love with his homeland. May he rest in peace.”
