Sultanahmet Square left to foreign tourists
As voting continues in Istanbul for the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, foreign tourists have filled the city's historical sites.
In Istanbul, while millions of residents headed to the polls for the voting process that began at 08:00, a high density of foreign tourists was observed at the city's tourist hotspots.
With the effect of the pleasant weather, thousands of tourists filled Sultanahmet Square.
On the other hand, within the scope of security measures implemented on election day, the Sultanahmet Mosque and the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque were opened to visitors with a delay.
Tourists wishing to visit the mosques formed long queues.
