Support for Ayşe Barım from Gani Müjde
Renowned screenwriter Gani Müjde has made a statement regarding the investigation launched into Ayşe Barım and the allegations of monopolization in the industry.
Ayşe Barım, co-founder of ID İletişim and manager for many famous actors such as Serenay Sarıkaya, had recently come to the fore with allegations of causing monopolization in the industry, with claims that she pushed actors who opposed her out of the sector.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation into Barım and, within this scope, imposed a travel ban on her.
Following these developments, famous screenwriter Gani Müjde made a statement on his X account. Müjde used the following expressions:
As the Ayşe Barım incident heads toward "nonsense," I would like to say a few words as someone who has dedicated 30 years to the industry. Perhaps some of my actor friends have been hurt due to preferences, or they may have experienced difficulties because preferences were interfered with, but this is not a crime in the eyes of the law, friends... Whether you like it or not, managers exist to create space for their own actors. Therefore, allegations such as "That role was going to come to me. Ayşe Barım intervened and gave it to her own actor" or "If you want this actor, you have to take these ones too" cannot be the subject of a legal complaint. Some actors may say it is an "ethical issue," and perhaps they are right, but the policy of cornering a manager over a "non-existent crime" by delving into the private lives of the actors in their talent pool does not seem right or fair to me. Especially when the industry has much bigger problems to discuss...
