Support for Danla Bilic from her ex-boyfriend Çakal

Social media influencer Danla Bilic had announced that she had been subjected to harassment and physical violence by her ex-boyfriend Berk Çetin for a long time. Following Bilic's post last night detailing the physical violence inflicted by Çetin, messages of support poured in. One of those offering support was Bilic's former partner, Emirhan Çakal.

Sharing a post on his social media account, Çakal stated the following:

'Danla may have been my girlfriend in the past, but this incident is not personal; it is a human issue. A man using his strength to hurt a woman is both a sign of weakness and cowardice.

Those who resort to violence are not worthy of love. Those who mistake obsession for love embrace their own darkness. And every threat that goes unpunished begins to dig a grave for another woman's life.'

WHAT HAPPENED?

Social media influencer Neslihan Damla Aktepe (30), known by her stage name Danla Bilic, had filed a complaint alleging that she was attacked by her ex-boyfriend Berk Çetin at a sports club in the Göktürk neighborhood of Istanbul. 

Following the complaint, Berk Çetin was apprehended in Denizli. After his judicial proceedings and questioning by the criminal judgeship of peace, Çetin was arrested and sent to prison.
