Obstacles continue to mount against the broadcast of the FOX series Kızıl Goncalar, produced by Gold Film and starring Özgü Namal and Özcan Deniz.

Filming permits for two locations, which had been redecorated at a cost of millions of liras under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, were canceled despite all payments having been made. Then, another obstacle emerged on December 25, 2023.

Filming permits for the Okmeydanı Darülaceze, where the hospital scenes for the character Dr. Levent, played by Özcan Deniz, were being shot, were canceled following instructions from the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services. A search for new locations has begun for the production, which has been halted for the second time.

Cinemascot, which is moving toward becoming a common network in the film industry, has expressed its support for the series Kızıl Goncalar, which is currently under investigation by RTÜK.

The following statements were included in the written announcement:

"It has been announced that filming will not be permitted at the Bayrampaşa Madrasa, owned by the Women's Education and Culture Foundation, and the building of the Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences Alumni and Members Foundation—locations where months of effort were spent and large budgets were allocated for the filming of the series 'Kızıl Goncalar'. The directorate cited public pressure regarding the series and the investigation launched by RTÜK as the reason for this decision.

Once again, we are facing a situation that prevents art from meeting its audience. We do not accept the targeting and banning of Kızıl Goncalar."
