Barış Demir, who continues his life working as a doner kebab chef, was a guest on the YouTube channel ChefStory. Demir said, "The MasterChef competition is not the competition it appears to be from the outside. The contestants are like wolves. There are people there who will do anything for success, to make themselves look good on screen."
The former contestant, who said, "I acted as if the cameras weren't there. I didn't play for the cameras. I know that if I had played for the cameras, I would have been the most beloved person by now," added, "I was natural; I could never hide what was inside me. There are types in that competition who would truly do anything just to succeed and win."
