In Greece, the main opposition party Syriza's leader Stefanos Kasselakisis preparing to marry his male partner.

Kasselakis and his partner Tyler McBethin August in Crete. they announced they would be getting married.

The wedding invitation "We are very excited to celebrate this special day with you in our favorite place" stated.

It was emphasized that the celebrations would last for four days.

In February, Greece became the first Orthodox Christian country to officially approve same-sex marriage. The decision was adopted following debates and objections from the church.

Despite opposition from the church, Greece became the first Christian Orthodox-majority country to legalize same-sex marriage. The law, voted on in 2024, passed in parliament with 176 votes in favor and 76 against.
