In the video he filmed, Şahan Gökbakar included the following statements:
"Hello, I am currently walking around the garden of my own house, my private property. It belongs entirely to me. And look... Do you see the state of these marbles? Would you look at the door?
It literally comes up to my chest area. How is a person supposed to enter here, man? Let me walk around a bit more. Look, I am a state manager, I am a manager of the state. Would you look, do you see? It is literally unpainted wood.
The municipality has done nothing here. It is unbelievable. One is surprised, and in the face of these, I officially feel like saying 'babababa'."
FILING A LAWSUIT
According to the report in Milliyet, State Theatres General Manager Karadağlı stated that he would file a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office and initiate a lawsuit against Gökbakar for mocking him and the institution he represents, and for discrediting the state.
WHAT HAPPENED?
State Theatres General Manager Tamer Karadağlı had recorded a video complaining about the lack of maintenance at the Haşim İşcan Cultural Center in Antalya. Karadağlı criticized the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, complaining about the poor condition of the building, which he described as a "disgrace."
Continuing to show the unmaintained areas in the cultural center on video, Karadağlı had shared on his social media account, saying, "It is unbelievable. State theatres and opera have to be in a building like this. The municipality has done nothing. It is in a terrible state. This is Antalya, where we hold international festivals. Does the municipality not see this at all? Nothing has been done here. It is truly a source of shame. I cannot believe it. It is as if this building came out of a war, or the contractor left and ran away."
Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek stated that the Haşim İşcan Cultural Center facilities, which the Municipality allocated to the Ministry in 2006, are under the responsibility of the Ministry for repair, maintenance, and upkeep, as clearly written in the contract, and said, "If this friend were doing his job as general manager instead of engaging in misleading political propaganda for the public, he should have known this."
