Tarkan's message to the released youth
Tarkan expressed his joy over the decision to release 102 of the 301 students who were arrested for participating in protests at Saraçhane to challenge the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, 102 young people—including Berkay Gezgin, a CHP PM member and the architect of İmamoğlu's campaign slogan "Everything will be very beautiful"—who were taken into custody and arrested during the protests held in Saraçhane, have been released.
Tarkan stated that he welcomed this news with great joy, using a metaphor to express that the place for these young people is not cages, but the sky.
Tarkan's post on the social media platform X is as follows:
"I am very happy and pleased for the young people who have been released. I hope that the remaining innocent young people will also be released and regain their freedom as soon as possible.
We should be proud of our young people who fight for democracy and justice.
The place where they should be is not cages, but the sky. Let them be a hope for our tomorrows, let them shed light on our path."
