Tarkan's moving farewell to Genco Erkal

Genco Erkal, who had been battling leukemia for some time, has passed away at the age of 86.

HE WILL BE LAID TO REST ON FRIDAY

Genco Erkal will be bid farewell with a memorial ceremony to be held at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage on Friday, August 2, at 14:00.

Following the ceremony, his funeral will be held at Teşvikiye Mosque after the afternoon prayer, and he will be laid to rest at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.

A MOVING MESSAGE FROM TARKAN

Following the news of Erkal's death, many artists and politicians posted farewell messages to the master figure on social media. One of those names was megastar Tarkan.

Sharing a post on his social media account, Tarkan stated, "Master theater actor and performer Genco Erkal has also left us.

I am saddened... He was the enlightened face of our country, the voice of Nazım Hikmet, and a huge, brave heart who always stood by justice and rights. May he rest in light and peace. I offer my condolences to his family, loved ones, and all his fans."
