Taxi driver Yüksel Nas, who filmed the diva of Turkish classical music, Bülent Ersoy, during her taxi ride, said, "Our friendship with Ms. Bülent goes back years. I go in and out of her house. A normal person could not film a video like this of Ms. Bülent. She wouldn't let them take their phone out. We are like siblings."
Taxi driver Yüksel Nas then made the selfie he took with Bülent Ersoy his profile picture.
According to the report by Aytekin Teker from Habertürk, the video of Bülent Ersoy taking a taxi in Istanbul went viral. The taxi driver who filmed Ersoy spoke out.
Nas used the following expressions regarding Ersoy:
"Actually, I was the driver for Ms. Bülent's late mother, Necla Poyraz. I was her mother's driver for 25 years. Our friendship with Ms. Bülent goes back years. I go in and out of her house. A normal person could not film a video like this of Ms. Bülent. She wouldn't let them take their phone out. We are like siblings. News reports appeared saying, 'She preferred to travel by taxi instead of her private vehicle because she was angry at her driver,' but that is not true. She was going to Cyprus. We were waiting for a wheelchair. My post alone has exceeded 1 million views. I hope she won't be angry that I shared this video upon her return from Cyprus."
