Nihal Candan, a well-known figure in the world of social media, has lost her life due to anorexia. The 30-year-old Candan had been released from prison in April 2024 due to her illness. However, her health condition continued to deteriorate, and she was admitted to intensive care recently, where it was announced that she passed away last night.
Sisters Nihal and Bahar Candan were arrested in November 2023 on charges of "fraud" and "money laundering." Nihal Candan had been released after being diagnosed with anorexia while in prison.
HER MOTHER'S CRIES
During the funeral ceremony held at the Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque, the emotional moments of Nihal Candan's mother, Umut Candan, drew attention. Umut Candan broke down in tears, saying, "I struggled, why didn't you hear me? My child is gone, what will I do now? How will I live? Why couldn't you make her eat even one bite?"

Stating that she thought her daughter would recover in intensive care, Umut Candan said, "I thought she would be cared for in intensive care and get better. I thought she would return to her room. I shouted that my children were innocent, but no one heard. I shouted that she was hungry, but no one heard."
Nihal Candan's body will be laid to rest at the Kilyos Cemetery following the funeral prayer.
