WHAT IS THE PLOT OF THE EL TURCO SERIES?

Adapted from Orhan Yeniaras’s novel 'El Turco - The Unknown Aspects of the Second Siege of Vienna', 'El Turco' tells the story of Balaban Ağa, an Ottoman soldier who, after being wounded during the Second Siege of Vienna in 1683, takes refuge in the village of Moana in Northern Italy. After being treated by the villagers, Balaban Ağa leads them in a successful rebellion against the heavy taxes imposed by the feudal lords.

The cast of the series also includes Will Kemp, David Nykl, Kieran O’Reilly, Veronica Ferres, and Maddalena Aragão. 

WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED?

It had previously emerged that Disney Plus had decided not to air the Can Yaman-starring series 'El Turco'. With eyes on the series' producer, Ay Yapım, the newly agreed-upon platform has been announced.

The 6-episode series, written by Kerem Deren and Çisil Hazal Tenim, is directed by Uluç Bayraktar, with cinematography by Tolga Kutluay. The series will meet audiences in the first months of 2025 on the Gain platform, which is known for its high-quality content.
