The person who distributed the controversial 'AC/DC' press release speaks to 12punto
It was claimed that the legendary rock band 'AC/DC' would come to Turkey. However, it was soon understood that the concert was actually by the band's first lead singer, Dave Evans. Seda Fırat, Press and Public Relations Director at Poll Production, who distributed the press release to print and digital media, spoke for the first time. Fırat said, "Why would we deceive people?" and explained what happened behind the scenes.

News that AC/DC would take the stage in Istanbul on October 20 was shared the other day, and ticket sales had also begun.
However, it was learned that the concert, which is organized by Poll Production and was announced to take place at Kuruçeşme Arena, is actually a concert by Dave Evans, who was involved in the band's formation and was its first lead singer.
'WHY WOULD WE DECEIVE?'
Following this development, Poll Production Press and Public Relations Director Seda Fırat spoke to 12punto.com.tr.
Stating that they did not engage in a 'concert deception,' Fırat said, "Why would we deceive people? We specifically emphasized that the band would be celebrating its 50th anniversary. Dave Evans was also on the posters we distributed.
News websites used photos that we did not distribute. I do not think there is a problem with the press release we sent to media organizations. How can we interfere with which headlines and content news sites use for the story?" she stated.

'POINTS TO A WEAKNESS'
Media ombudsman Faruk Bildirici included the following statements in his column on 12punto.com.tr regarding this issue:
"This points to a weakness in the journalistic reflexes of online media. It is extremely natural for such problems to arise when ready-made texts from organizers are published without being filtered, or when news is copied from other sites.
It is such a weakness that when it was understood that the band AC/DC would not be performing in Istanbul, many sites corrected their news. But the news about the AC/DC concert still remains on the sites of Artı Gerçek, CNN TÜRK, Hürriyet, Posta, and Yurt. They are in such a deep sleep that they cannot realize the mistake."
