The subject of documentaries: After Yaren, his mate Nazlı has also joined Fisherman Uncle Adem
Nazlı, the mate of Yaren—the stork whose 13-year friendship with fisherman 'Uncle Adem' in the Karacabey district of Bursa has become a global sensation—has also arrived to join Uncle Adem. The moment Yaren the Stork and his mate Nazlı reunited was captured on camera.
With the arrival of spring, the reunion of Uncle Adem and Yaren the Stork, which all of Turkey had been eagerly awaiting, took place in recent days.
Following this reunion, which became a hot topic in Turkey, Yaren the Stork's mate also reached the nest yesterday evening.
Yaren the Stork, who has been landing on fisherman Adem Yılmaz's boat in Leylek Village (Stork Village) for 13 years, had captured hearts with this friendship.
Every year, upon returning from migration, Yaren lands in his nest in Eskikaraağaç and spends the summer in this village. Every morning, Yaren goes fishing with fisherman Adem Yılmaz.
While Yaren is the first to arrive from migration each year, his mate Nazlı joins him within a few days.
Their reunion this year took place yesterday. Those watching the live broadcast opened by the Karacabey Municipality at yarenleylek.com experienced great joy upon seeing Yaren and his mate together.
Nature photographer Alper Tüydeş announced those moments on social media.
SUBJECT OF TEXTBOOKS
This story, witnessed by Adem Yılmaz, whose friendship with Yaren the Stork began 13 years ago when the bird landed on his boat while he was fishing in Lake Uluabat, gained international fame once it was photographed.
While the story is performed as a shadow play in Greece, it has become a subject in textbooks in Austria and Germany.
The documentary titled 'Yaren,' filmed by Burak Doğansoysal in 2019 and prepared with the contributions of the Karacabey Municipality, returned from the Prague Film Awards with the title of Best Documentary.
Last year, the Karacabey Municipality had a statue of Fisherman Adem and Yaren the Stork commissioned, ensuring the story was immortalized in the village square.
