According to this special memory shared by radio host Altekin Erginel, Kazım Koyuncu had a meeting with Volkan Konak shortly before he passed away in 2005.
During this meeting, Koyuncu entrusted Selim Bölükbaşı, his friend since the age of six who played the kemençe and tulum in his band, to Konak, saying:
"Look, here is Selim, my friend since I was six years old. He played the kemençe and tulum in my band. I am closing my eyes now. Take care of this boy, take him with you."
Following the death of Kazım Koyuncu, Selim Bölükbaşı continued his musical career alongside Volkan Konak in accordance with this loyal request. Having performed on stage and shared music with Konak for years, Bölükbaşı experienced the deep pain of losing a close friend once again after Volkan Konak's passing, just as he had with Kazım Koyuncu.
