This is how a Yeni Şafak columnist was defrauded
Ali Saydam announced that he was defrauded after making a payment on a fake website for a Cem Yılmaz show.
Yeni Şafak columnist Ali Saydam recounted a fraud incident he experienced while purchasing tickets online in his latest column. Saydam stated that he paid approximately 21 thousand TL to a professional-looking website (stubhub.com) while buying tickets for Cem Yılmaz's January 4th show, only to realize he had been defrauded.
In his column titled "I was also defrauded," Saydam shared the fraud incidents he has encountered in his business life and online shopping. Noting that it has become a habit for him to watch Cem Yılmaz's shows with his family, Saydam said he went online this time to purchase three tickets for himself, his wife, and his son. Stating that he bought the tickets through a site that appeared first in search results and looked reliable, Saydam added that the presence of the Passo logo on the tickets increased his trust.
However, Saydam realized he had been defrauded when he noticed that the amount charged to his credit card did not match the ticket price. Saydam stated that he reported the situation to his bank and hopes to get his money back. He also added that he had informed Passo of the situation but had not yet received a response.
Stating that he learned a lesson from this incident, Saydam concluded his column by recalling a famous joke: "Not every bearded man you see may be your grandfather," and added: "They asked the man they were taking to the gallows, 'What are your last words?' The man replied immediately: 'Let this be a lesson to me!'"
