Tolga Karaçelik's new film, "The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided To Write About A Serial Killer," starring world-renowned actors Steve Buscemi, Britt Lower, and John Magaro, will hold its world premiere in New York, where the film was shot.
Tolga Karaçelik, who has remained in the spotlight for a long time with his films "Toll Booth," "Ivy," and "Butterflies," which left their mark on festivals worldwide and won numerous awards, also achieved a historic success with "Butterflies" as the first local production to win the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
Karaçelik is now preparing to present his fourth film, which he wrote and directed, titled "The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided To Write About A Serial Killer," to cinema lovers.
The dark comedy "The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided To Write About A Serial Killer," starring US stars Steve Buscemi, Britt Lower, and John Magaro, will meet the audience for the first time in New York, where it was filmed. Selected for the Spotlight section of the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival, held between June 5-16, the film will hold its world premiere on Saturday, June 8, at 5:00 PM at the SVA Theatre.
The Spotlight section of the festival, which was started by Jane Rosenthal, Robert De Niro, and Craig Hatkoff and has been organized annually by Tribeca Productions since 2002, brings highly anticipated premieres from beloved directors, producers, and star actors to cinema enthusiasts.
The filming of "The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided To Write About A Serial Killer," which is Tolga Karaçelik's first film shot in English, lasted 22 days and took place in various locations across New York; post-production work was carried out in New York, Los Angeles, and Istanbul.

"The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided To Write About A Serial Killer" is produced under the Cinegryphon Entertainment banner by Sinan Eczacıbaşı, Scott Aharoni, and Mustafa Kaymak, alongside Wren Arthur and Steve Buscemi's Olive Productions, Alihan Yalçındağ's May Productions, Tolga Karaçelik, and Alex Peace Power.
The film's executive producers are Britt Lower, John Magaro, Kanat Doğramacı (Asteros Film), Ali Yürüer, Aret Taşçıyan, and Irmak Pakdemir. With cinematography by Natalia Kingston, the first female cinematographer to win an Emmy for "Black Bird," and production design by Lance Mitchell, known for works such as "American Honey" and "Hanna," the music supervision for "The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided To Write About A Serial Killer" is handled by Emmy-winning Ciara Elwis.
The film's worldwide rights are managed by two of the most important US companies, CAA Media Finance and UTA, and the editing bears the signature of Evren Luş.
