Tuğçe Tayfur files lawsuit against former fiancé
Tuğçe Tayfur, daughter of Ferdi Tayfur and Necla Nazır, has turned to the judiciary, alleging that her former fiancé, Burak Kalfa, pressured her through threats and blackmail. The prosecutor's office has requested that a case be opened against Kalfa with a demand for up to 10 years in prison, and the court has accepted the indictment.
Tuğçe Tayfur, daughter of prominent Turkish music figures Ferdi Tayfur and Necla Nazır, has taken her controversial relationship with former fiancé Burak Kalfa to the courts. Following their breakup in 2023, Tayfur alleged that Kalfa had systematically subjected her to threats and insults. Based on these allegations, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment in light of the messages and screenshots submitted by Tayfur and presented it to the court. The court reviewed the indictment and decided to open the case.
"THERE IS NO BREATH FOR YOU"
According to a report by Sabah, the message contents reflected in the prosecutor's file include threatening expressions such as, "We will both burn, there is no breath for you, I will drag you to such a low point that you will never be able to get out again." In her petition, Tayfur stated that after the separation, her former fiancé applied psychological pressure on her via social media and WhatsApp, blackmailed her with images that did not belong to her, and threatened to leak these images to the press. Additionally, the claim that he tried to instill fear in Tayfur regarding "losing custody of her son" was also included in the file.
DENIED THE MESSAGES IN HIS STATEMENT
In his statement to the prosecutor's office, Burak Kalfa claimed that the WhatsApp line in question did not belong to him and that he did not send the messages in question. Kalfa denied the accusations directed at him, claiming he was being slandered, and also filed a complaint against the other party.
UP TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON REQUESTED
Taking into account the digital data and messages submitted, the prosecutor's office requested that a case be opened against Burak Kalfa with a demand for a total of up to 10 years in prison on charges of 'threat against a woman,' 'blackmail,' and 'insult.'
It has been learned that the first hearing of the case will be held in the coming days at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance.
