Turkey's happiest province has been announced: A new leader on the satisfaction map

According to the latest research conducted across Turkey to measure general public happiness, Sinop has risen to the first place among 81 provinces in terms of happiness rate. Achieving a rate of 77.66 percent, Sinop surpassed other provinces across the country to earn the title of "Turkey's happiest city." The Black Sea city, which has a population of over 216 thousand, stood out with its high satisfaction rates alongside its calm atmosphere.

Afyonkarahisar, which took second place, became one of the prominent large provinces on the list with a rate of 76.43 percent. Afyonkarahisar, with a population of approximately 737 thousand, was followed by Bayburt, one of Turkey's less populated provinces. Bayburt took third place with 75.91 percent. Kırıkkale is in fourth place with a level of 75.48 percent.

According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the ranking of the top 10 provinces with the highest life satisfaction is as follows:

While metropolises could not make it onto this list, Çankırı and Düzce in particular drew attention with happiness rates above 70 percent. Uşak, Siirt, and Şırnak, which are in the bottom three, managed to keep their public satisfaction levels at the top despite their high populations. The populations of Siirt and Şırnak, which are around half a million, are considered results that are "beyond expectations."

This list, which is dominated not by frequently preferred coastal cities but by regions that offer a less crowded and peaceful life, also indicates that the preferences of citizens who choose to move away from the pace of life are changing. The research once again revealed that the stress and chaos of big cities are inversely proportional to life satisfaction.
